How TaxPro leads a tax assessment case to complete success

Initial situation: Estimate over several years and six-figure additional claims

The tax office had imposed substantial back payments on an internationally living taxpayer (resident in Switzerland). The back taxes involved were in the six-figure range.

The basis was general estimates of income and interest calculations over a period of more than 20 years.

Despite repeated references to statutes of limitations and incorrect calculations, the tax office initially stuck to its line.

Strategy: TaxPro remained legally steadfast for over a decade

TaxPro conducted the proceedings through all instances – including intensive discussions on the statute of limitations for assessment, the admissibility of the estimation methods, the interest calculation according to Section 233a AO and the delivery practice.

After years of dispute, the tax office finally recognized that the notices were no longer valid and declared the entire legal dispute to be essentially settled.

Result: Claim fully enforced – without court decision

  • The taxpayer was fully exempted.

  • All estimates and additional claims were canceled.

  • This procedure is another example of TaxPro’s long-term strategy – with maximum success for its clients.

What you should take away from this:
  • Even long-term proceedings can be successfully concluded with perseverance and strategy.

  • Especially in old tax years and international situations, detailed knowledge and procedural security are essential.

  • TaxPro knows the limits of the assessment period – and consistently advocates for the rights of its clients.

Estimates, interest, old tax years – do you feel at the mercy of others?

Have your notices and deadlines checked – TaxPro has experience with complex and long-term procedures.
